Robert Ingpen

As an adult

Robert Ingpen has created numerous books for children and adults. He and his wife, Angela, live in Australia, and have four children and four grandchildren.

As an artist

Robert has received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for international children's illustrations, and won the Dromkeen Medal for his contribution to illustration in Australia. He says, "As I designed and refined my illustrations for Tom Pow's beautiful poem, Who is the World For?, I kept in mind editor Wendy Boase, who passed away in 1991. Through the picture books she has published, the world is a better place."
