We are always striving to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and empathy in our publishing. After all, reading is that magical thing that lets you learn about the world without even crossing over your front door. Sebastian Walker first founded Walker Books in 1978 in a spare bedroom. Now, our authors’ and illustrators’ incredible work has been translated and sold all over the world, and many have also had their stories adapted for television and film.

Since 2020, Walker has been part of the Trustbridge Global Media group. While there are all sorts of exciting new things on Walker Books horizons and a lot has changed from those humble spare room beginnings, our mission has been the same for almost 50 years:
