Frank Cottrell Boyce

Frank Cottrell Boyce is a multi-award-winning children's author and screenwriter, and the UK Children's Laureate 2024–2026. His debut novel, Millions, won the Carnegie Medal, and he was awarded the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize for The Unforgotten Coat. Millions was made into a film by Danny Boyle, and Frank worked with him several years later on scripting the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. His other books include Framed, Cosmic, The Astounding Broccoli Boy, Sputnik’s Guide to Life on Earth, Runaway Robot, Noah’s Gold and The Wonder Brothers. His books have been shortlisted for a multitude of prizes, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award. He is also the author of three official sequels to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Frank is a lifelong champion of children's books, and in 2023 he and Nadia Shireen created the podcast The Island of Brilliant, which celebrates writing and illustration for children. He lives with his family in Merseyside.
