Vicki Churchill

Author, artist and photographer, Vicki Churchill, wrote the modern classic ‘Sometimes I like to curl up in a ball’, in her 20s. Originally a poem about childhood, it soon became obvious it was the perfect narrative for a children’s book, and a wonderful text to accompany Charlie Fuge’s, newly created wombat character. After an exciting decade or so working around the world with artist and advertising photographers, Vicki felt it was time to get serious about her writing. In 2018 she commenced an MA in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes, and is currently working on her debut poetry pamphlet. Though she is not directly writing for children, she keeps an eye out for poems that could develop into another project such as ‘Sometimes I like to curl up in a ball’. Published Children’s books include: Sometimes I like to curl up in a ball Butterfly's Kiss The Lonely Wasp Annie Ant Buster Bug Artist books include: I can only experience this through my eyes - 2014 bookRoom Press Artist projects include: El Trovatore - poetry commissioned for a film by Nick Meek Vicki is available for poetry commissions, children’s books and more.
