Role: Sales Manager - Schools, Education, Library & Key Accounts

Reports to: Head of UK Sales

Introduction to this role

We are looking for a Sales Manager to considerably increase sales in educational and library channels as part of a company growth strategy in this particular area of the market. This is a key strategic imperative for the UK Trade Division. The sales manager would meet sales targets by selling of company products and would represent Walker in a professional manner at all times.


Skills and Experience Required


  • To be an expert in the school and library market and to be responsible for all sales-related activity in these sectors. 
  • To represent the educational and library sector and your other key accounts in- house.
  • To visit Key Accounts customers (Education and Library) at head office on a regular basis to manage account and grow sales. 
  • To be responsible for your own budget.  
  • To be responsible for maintaining own awareness of product range in order to sell effectively.  
  • To be responsible for liaising with Customer Service Department and Telesales to ensure client/product information is updated.  


Experience & Skills:

  • Full understanding of educational and library market
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing schools / educational strategies
  • Minimum A level, graduate preferred
  • Sales experience
  • Understanding of publishing process and product knowledge
  • Financially and commercially astute with IT Skills
  • Ideally aware of current government policy with regards to Education
  • Library knowledge preferable but not essential


Salary: Competitive with a great benefits package

Location: Vauxhall, London
