Editorial Assistant 

 

Reports To: Two Senior Commissioning Editors

 

Role Summary: Walker Books seeks a motivated children’s publishing enthusiast with strong writing, organisational and communication skills to act as Editorial Assistant for the Character Team, which handles the books of Lucy Cousins, including Maisy and Little Fish; the property Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram; and Where’s Wally? by Martin Handford. This list may grow to include other brands over time. You will report directly to the two Senior Creative Commissioning Editors, but you will also support the Character Publisher and work closely with the Creative Editor.

 

Salary: £23,000 - £24,000 per annum

Foreign Rights Production Coordinator


Reports To: Rights Manager

 

Role Summary: Supporting a busy and dynamic foreign rights team with post-sale fulfilment for both co-edition and license rights sales across selected territories worldwide. This is a unique and varied opportunity for a self-motivated professional to use their initiative, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. You will be responsible for managing and tracking the production process of orders from the moment of sale through to finished copies. Day to day you will be liaising closely externally with international customers, and internally with a number of teams such as production, design and editorial in addition to your foreign rights colleagues. The role is integral to the foreign rights team, ensuring that key deadlines for customers are met and that the production process runs smoothly. You will be working on the production of exciting new debuts, award winning and best-selling children's books with customers from around the world, across a wide range of formats such as picture books, non-fiction, novelty and major licensed brands.

Income Admin Assistant


Reports To: Compliance Controller

 

Role Summary: This is a numeracy based role to provide support for the subsidiary rights income compliance function of the busy Business Affairs department; working closely with and in support of the Compliance Controller including assisting with invoicing and collection of payments for designated areas of foreign rights, licensing and other subsidiary rights agreements (whether advances, guarantees or royalty income) in a timely manner and maintaining up-to-date, accurate records and filing systems relating to such income; other ad hoc tasks across department as and when necessary. Good numeracy skills required.

 

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

 

Location: Vauxhall, London
