This is a good story about a mother and son in need of replacing their nativity set. Jonathan Toomey is the local recluse given the job of making it. It will keep children's attention as each of the figures is made with the advice of the boy or rather his guidance. Gradually all three are on speaking terms - I won't spoil the ending for you. A bit long for pre schoolers but can be read over a few days. I read it to a class of 10 yr olds and they all enjoyed it. Excellent illustrations and a lovely christmas story.
